WE SPOKE WITH SKYLAR MARTIN, GENERAL MANAGER AT BIG AIR SPARTANBURG, TO FIND OUT HOW BOXBLASTER VR GAMES ARE PERFORMING AT HER LOCATION. Read on to find out how the allure of thrilling Boxblaster VR games forced Big Air to add stanchions near the attraction to organize the often forming queues better.

Could you give us some details about your venue and its customers?

Sure! We are an indoor trampoline park with thousands of square feet of jumping surfaces, including dodgeball courts, slam dunk courts, foam pits, launch pads, rock climbing, and more! We are situated in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and are often chosen to host birthdays, team parties, and other group events.

How did you discover Boxblaster VR?

We first discovered your attraction at IAAPA Expo, where we also got the opportunity to play your VR games. We enjoyed them so much that it was a no-brainer to add the arena to Big Air, and we weren’t mistaken. Your games are fun, social, and different - our customers love them!

How has your experience been with Boxblaster VR up until now?

Honestly, what’s been particularly impressive is the support. It’s been pretty immediate, which isn’t something I’ve seen with our other vendors, so I appreciate that. Other than that, it’s been a great addition to our offering. We decided to offer Boxblaster VR as part of the 2-hour tickets we sell. It works well because customers can jump and then play some VR games, or the other way around. They appreciate this experience, which is quite different from trampoline jumping, but still a lot of fun.

Your venue has been particularly successful in terms of the number of games played. What would you attribute this success to?

I’d say the games you provide are the key success drivers. There’s something that appeals to everybody, across all age demographics and preferences. I see that throughout the day, customers play different games. Groups of people love playing together, and parents are excited to play with their kids. Once a couple of kids are playing, that’s when everyone starts lining up and then wanting to try it. Seeing how someone else plays and the world they are immersed in really grabs the attention of those passing by.

What games are played the most at your location?

Younger kids, those between 6-8 years old, like to play Dino Rush. It’s the one they are most attracted to because it doesn’t seem as complex as Arcania or Eclipse. I think Dino Rush is also great for smaller kids because they don’t need to push many buttons, and get the hang of it quite fast. Another one that gets a lot of action is Arcania. It’s popular with those above the age of 8. They love shooter games, and so do parents. Often, parents even play by themselves.
